Prospective Students

I am always looking for self-motivated students to work with me as I currenlty have many innovative ideas awaiting execution. If you want to join my fully-funded PhD program, please send me your CV, transcripts, and any other materials that you think can strengthen your background via email with the subject line "PhD Application - [Your Name]". I read every email and typically respond promptly, unless it is an insincere one. At the University of Kentucky, the English language requirements for PhD programs are not overly stringent. No need for a GRE and TOEFL score is required to be >79. So it can be passed even without preparation. However, what we truly value are highly excellent students in the field of computer science. Students with the following background can be admitted immediately:

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in CS, EE, or related areas from a prestigious institution in their country. Even if the GPA is not very high (but shouldn't be too low).

  • Have strong hands-on implementation skills in computer systems, which can be proven by awards from Olympics competitions, project experience, and so on.

If you are interested in a research internship, whether remote or in person, please be ready to dedicate a significant amount of time to work on a complete piece of publishable work. It would be preferred if you have some initial ideas related to my research, but usually, I have no shortage of ideas.
